we develop our business plans, promoting the good use of water, the formalization of work, caring for the environment and the eradication of hunger of the communities.
In the world more than 75% of the crops depend on pollinators, if the pollinator plant interaction breaks down, we could stop having access to hundreds of fruits, vegetables and legumes
that are part of our current diet, in addition, genetic erosion would be generated, and the environmental services derived from the ecological function of pollination would be affected.
In recent years there has been a sharp decline in the pollinator population due to various factors such as: deforestation, pesticide use, agrochemicals, climate change, settlements and
exploitation activities carried out by humans. Due to the great impact that this has generated, an alert has been raised about the dire consequences of this loss.
Due to the aforementioned, in Orange we are developing as an emblematic project the beekeeping and Meliponiculture program in the mining fronts and communities of influence
since bees offer directly or indirectly a series of benefits to man, among which pollination, feeding, conservation can be mentioned. of plant and animal species, production
of raw materials for medicine and cosmetology among many others.
The ecological pollination function carried out by bees is fundamental in the maintenance of the seeds of flowering plants, becoming essential beings for the sustainability of most
of the terrestrial ecosystems and therefore helping to meet the objectives that we have set for ourselves. raised since they are fundamental to the well-being and future of humanity.
Other projects developed are Origin Coffee and Origin Cacao with which it seeks to promote local economies with the commercialization of the products obtained and at the same time
use the lands that were impacted by mining activity and thus help in the recovery of the ecosystems of each one of the areas of influence complying with the environmental compensation plans.
goals:
- Implement initiatives that promote the achievement of sustainable development goals.
Implement and develop productive projects, especially beekeeping, cocoa and coffee, so that the mining areas of our suppliers are more
sustainable and innovative, generating positive environmental and social impacts, with a circular economy.- Develop projects that promote reforestation, conservation and protection of ecosystems, always with a focus on the integration of beekeeping projects.
- Sign alliances with public and private actors in order to develop productive projects with high environmental impact, which also promote research and public management.
